MAC Wonder Woman Haul

I only let myself cheat on my no/low-buy for this collection cos I am a collector of awesome pretty things 😛

When this was released a couple of weeks ago in the US, I got my friend to get me both the mineralize skinfinishes, both blushes and a lipstick.

Spitfire lipstick – Bright creamy magenta (Satin) $15.50usd/$37.00aud
Mighty Aphrodite blush duo – Warm peach coral with gold pearl/Bright coral pink with gold pearl (Satin/Frost) $24.00usd/$45.00aud
Amazon Princess blush duo – Bright yellow pink/Deep blue pink with gold pearl (Satin/Satin) $24.00usd/$45.00aud
Pink Power mineralize skinfinish – Peachy rose with pink shimmer/Soft rosy bronze/Soft shell pink with fine shimmer $35.00usd/$58.00aud
Golden Lariat mineralize skinfinish – True coral with fine gold shimmer/Soft suntanned bronze/Soft gold with fine shimmer $35.00usd/$58.00aud

I am so glad I have such a great friend in the US who’s willing to help me get all these cosmetics so I don’t have to pay the Australian retail. All up, I saved ~$88!

Stay tuned – swatches and reviews are coming up soon 🙂

Quick Review: MAC A Tartan Tale

I swatched everything but the eyeshadow cos I don’t want to ruin that pretty pattern! 😦

Glamora Castle is a very nice grey blue with some really fine shimmer. The surface has a really cute plaid pattern which unfortunately does not go all the way through (as discovered by BritishBeautyBlogger).

Dark grey with teal tartan striping (Limited Edition)

They cost more than MAC’s usual eyeshadows ($19.50USD) but they are bigger (3grams).

The MAC A Tartan Tale eyeshadow (middle) compared with a typical MAC blush (left) and MAC eyeshadow pot (right).

Now, the pigments – I acquired samples of The Family Crest, Moonlight Night and Jigs & Jives. The Family Crest and Moonlight Night, along with Later, were released as full sized pigment jars. MAC also released holiday sets of the pigment vials and I think each set had at least one limited edition shade. I’ve been trying to get my hands on the others – Cheers My Dear, Gilt O Glamor and Most Darlingbut it has been difficult!

Moving on… both Moonlight Night and The Family Crest were swatched wet seemed like their full potential would be released only when swatched wet lol. Jigs & Jives, I swatched dry as usual as well as wet.

First impressions – all the pigments went on smoothly and no chunky glitter yay! A darker base is suggested for The Family Crest and Moonlight Night.

Jigs & Jives – Naked taupe

Moonlight Night – Blackened teal with teal pearl (Frost) (Limited Edition)

The Family Crest – Blackened bronze with pearl (Frost) (Limited Edition)

Jigs & Jives – pinkish tan
Moonlight Night – black base with blue and green shimmer
The Family Crest – plum base with gold shimmer

The Faerie Glen, is essentially a sheer nude-pink-brown mix. I like the fact that it’s a lustre finish cos when it’s applied, it’s semi-sheer with a slight sheen.

MAC Venomous Villains Collection – Toxic Tale and Heartless lipsticks

Toxic Tale – looks like neon orange highlighter in the tube and yet when I applied to my lips, it was very wearable. Not bright at all!

Bright coral (Satin)

Heartless – haven’t worn this yet but it looks like the perfect deep ruby red 🙂 I don’t know why I purchased it when I have other reds in my collection which I have barely touched!

Cherry red (Amplified)

There’s a slip over the normal packaging 🙂
Shiny black lipstick bullets with a picture of the villain 🙂

Swatch (that’s one swipe per lipstick! Love the payoff.)

MAC Venomous Villains Collection – Bite of an Apple blush

Front and back of box

This was part of the Evil Queen collection.

I’m sucha sucker for corals and peaches. I need to branch out!

When I swatched it, it wasn’t very pigmented at all. Definitely a bright blush but because it’s sheer, it means you won’t end up looking clownish.

Soft coral pink (Matte)

Smooth application and quite sheer so you can build up the colour.

Without flash

MAC Venomous Villains Collection – I’m So Vain mirror

>There’s not much to say about this mirror. It’s a nice size, compact and very sturdy.

Compact inspired by collaboration; interior contains standard mirror on one side and magnifying mirror on alternate side.

My MAC Venomous Villains Haul

Don’t you hate it when you’re expecting something in the mail, it takes its time to arrive??

I got:
Bite of an Apple blush
Heartless lipstick
Toxic Tale lipstick
I’m So Vain mirror

The packaging is awesome. I know there’s been drama about the packaging and design of it but I don’t mind it.

What did you haul from this collection? Anything? Nothing?

I’ll being doing separate posts on each product cos I went a bit snap happy and didn’t want to upload all the pictures at once 😀
