Look of the Day – Corals

The lovely sunshine today meant that I was ready to bring out the corals. I miss summer! I’m so sick of the gloomy weather & we’re not even entering winter yet lol 😦 Please ignore my out of control eyebrows at the moment. An influx of uni assignments has kept me from seeing my eyebrow waxer.

For this coral look I used:
Mary Kay Signature Eye Primer
MAC Coral Crepe paint pot
MAC Deckchair pigment
MAC Electric Coral pigment
MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow

On my cheeks, I wore MAC Hipness and to tie it all together, Revlon Peach colorburst lipstick 🙂

5 Days Of Nude Lips Round-Up

I really enjoyed doing this series & I think I’ll continue to do them for various items in my collection – it allows me to use a different item everyday.

The 5 Days of Nude Lips series was about showcasing my nude lipsticks. I am a big fan of nude lips especially when they’re paired with a dark, sultry smokey eye.

Day 1, we got to know a permanent member of MAC’s line – Hue.

The coveted MAC 3N made an appearance on day 2 of the series.

At the half-way mark, I changed it up & featured Revlon Soft Nude colorburst lipstick. Definitely a great drugstore gem.

Day 4 of the series saw us back at MAC with The Faerie Glen – gorgeous name, gorgeous nude.

To end the series, I featured MAC Honeylove (a least favourite of mine lol).

Finally – a comparison swatch of the nudes I’ve showcased:

5 Days Of Nude Lips – Day 3

A drugstore find – Revlon Soft Nude colorburst lipstick.

In contrast to the previous two nudes I’ve featured, Soft Nude is a peachy kind of nude with just a slight touch of pink.

I love the packaging of these Revlon colorburst lipsticks. On the outside, it’s quilted black on two sides & there’s even Revlon imprinted on the lipstick bullet.

Like with my previous experience with the colorburst range, Soft Nude glides on nicely with no tugging at all. It applies sheerly but it is buildable. It also doesn’t feel too ‘heavy’ on your lips either! However, I do find that with this particular shade, it can get a bit dry so I recommend moisturising & exfoliating them peckers before applying this shade.

You can purchase the Revlon colorburst range at your local drugstore. For the Aussies, I found these in Priceline but they’re also available at Target, Kmart, Big W and selected chemists. They will set you back $6-8usd/$23.95aud.

New Favourite Lipstick :) (And Why I LOVE Covergirl Lash Blast!)

Lookie – this is how Revlon Soft Rose colourburst (colorburst?) lipstick looks on me! So gorgeous and it leaves a nice stain behind too.

PS. Darn these finals! They’re giving me pimples 😦

And I never thought I’d ever find my HG mascara but here it is. My lashes stayed like this for the whole day!! Woow!

I’m Becoming A Lipstick Girl

Priceline is having a massive sale on their cosmetics and currently (til Monday 7th June), they’re having a buy one get one free on most Revlon products (lips and nail products) *amongst other offers*

We rarely have such offers (BOGOF) so I purchased two lipsticks from Revlon’s new range, Colorburst lipsticks.

I got Soft Rose which is supposed to be a dupe of NARS Dolce Vita lipstick and after a quick comparison Soft Rose is much more pigmented and glossier than Dolce Vita. Dolce Vita’s very sheer.

Blush is a slightly frosty pinky-nude which is so pretty!

We have testers here in Australia for such “drugstore” products but apparently in the US-of-A, they don’t. Well, Revlon’s smart! They have the shade on the caps to help you decide and you know what? The colours are pretty darn close to what’s in the tube. Kudos.

How pretty is the packaging? On the outside, it’s like a Chanel-esque quilted packaging on two sides of the tube and matte black on the other two sides. Open the tube, and you have Revlon etched onto the lipstick tube – again, Chanel-inspired?

I’ve worn both once and just from that – they’re very moisturising and glides on smoothly. Love it – so far 🙂 The colours are buildable as well 🙂
